Managers: Samurai course to deal with crisis stress

12 December 2008 – Next week, managers at newspaper het Financieele Dagblad and at the headquarters of supermarket chain Albert Heijn, both based in Amsterdam, will be given a crash-course to help them deal with stress caused by the financial crisis. The course is based on Samurai sword fighting techniques.

This was announced by Arjen Hemelaar, a Buddhist and the director of a company selling beer made from Japanese tea. The one-hour course teaches managers to ‘reduce stress, work more effectively and think creatively’. The course is available for managers at companies with over 500 employees.
