Frisians digitalise 1832 land registry map

The Fryske Akademy is creating a digital map of Amsterdam using the lots described in the 1832 land registry. It will be possible to link this map to other maps and to data including the 1851-1853 censuses, which are being digitalised simultaneously. Next Tuesday, preliminary results will be presented.

With some effort, the lots are linked to the coordinates of the Rijksdriehoekstelsel (RD). In the inner city, deviations may not exceed 2 metres, whereas a 5-metre margin is accepted elsewhere. The results are to become available in May next year and will be published on a web site and in an app. More information: website / programme (pdf).
