Voting advice in English

16 February 2018

Many foreigners living in Amsterdam are eligible to vote in the 21 March local election, but little information is available in English. However, News from Amsterdam has now published an English translation of its popular voting advice application.

The tool won’t tell people what to vote, but it will give them an idea of the position of local political parties on a range of issues. It is unique in being based not on promises parties make during the election campaign, but on how they actually voted on proposals in the city council.

Topics include affordable housing, bicycle facilities, sustainable neighbourhoods, taxi regulations and treatment of homeless people and welfare recipients.

The voting advice application is available here.
